Seen, Remembered, Imagined 2023
Different spaces of land hold significance to all of us. As a society, we live, work and move through experiences and the places that we visit become embedded with memories. As we recall a place, we remember what happened there and how it made us feel. Renee Bell’s debut solo exhibition, “Seen, Remembered, Imagined”, explores the rural South Australian landscape and the connections between our experiences, memories and the land. Each painting is created like a page in a journal, recording the landscape like a memory. Some of these memories are not her own but are shared recollections from others. In this exhibition, the viewer is invited to share in the landscapes and bring their own experiences and memories into viewing the work.
This exhibition opens February 3rd can be viewed in the Rain Moth Gallery in Waikerie from February 6th.
